Question type: General

when I get in my car and before I turn it on my radio screen says "Battery Saver Audio Off". What does this mean?

It means the "battery saver" is turning off the audio to reduce drain on the battery. Likely the battery voltage is low and that is causing this message. I would have the battery tested.

I put a new battery in and that's when it started saying battery saver system off. Everything in the car works. What do I do to stop it

I usually leave my phone charger plugged in the car outlet, one day my friend borrowed my car charger so I left it unplugged over night. Next day my battery was dead. It was old so I went ahead and replaced it. Now I always get that “battery saver” message. The confusing part is when it tells me to either turn off ignition, or start the car. The ignition is already off. So it must be a general message, not specifically saying something was left on. I’m assuming it’s related to leaving the cell phone car charger plugged in. The car may sense it’s still drawing power. But why didn’t it say this before I changed the battery? The system was reset so maybe something changed with the notification settings or new software updates from the dealership could be reacting to the new battery. I’d like to get turn off the message but I also don’t want to get surprised by a dead battery again. Maybe from now on I take the manual seriously and always leave car outlets unplugged while not in use. That may just resolve things.

After replacing the battery and alternator I still had this battery saver notice. I found the answer on a web site that worked. The battery is being drained by the bluetooth system in the audio controls. Go to the radio controls and push the phone button. Click up and down until you turn off the bluetooth. I've solved the problem that way. By the way this stupid Microsoft system won't play music from a flash drive formatted with a Apple computer.. My car is a 2014 Ford Fusion.

Why would a Bluetooth drain your battery while off though?

It does. I never had the problem when driving every day. Now that I'm retired it sits for weeks and then it happened until I turned off the Bluetooth.
