not if its rear wheel drive just remove thne drive shaft and remove bolts on bell housing

ps, and you have a few pugs to on pug and the shaft cable

Your Crown Vic likely has a 4R70W in it. It is not necessary to remove the engine to take out the transmission. In 2004 the switched to the slightly heavier duty 4R75W.
