Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How often do actuators go out. I replaced the driver
side around a month ago and already it's cliking
again.

door lock actuator? any electronic part can fail at any time. if you replace them, use genuine AC Delco parts. aftermarket electrical parts generally suck.

I've had two actuators go out recently (clicking) about six months apart. The first one cost around $300 to fix by the dealership. The second one cost around $600 to fix by the dealership. I was told there are six actuators in the dash that can go out and it depends on how hard they are to get to that determines the cost of fixing them. The last one I had fixed took five or six hours to fix. Annoying Clicking! I've also had numerous problems with traction and stabilization - fortunately traction/stabilization was covered by my extended warranty with $100 deductible. I had to have wheel hubs replaced twice for that problem.
