Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay so I have a Dodge Stratus SXT 4 door he gives me all kinds of crazy weird unexplainable problems but lately the cruise control sometimes works sometimes doesn't for about the past month or two it has not worked at all the light comes on but as soon as I go to set it it clicks off so my understanding was that there is a vacuum hose that has something to do with the cruise control and that did get red flagged when they ran the computer on it Diagnostics when I had my transmission flushed so I haven't had it repaired yet but my question is do I need to have this repaired immediately and is this causing my RPMs to run really high because I'm about at 2500 RPMs going 60 miles an hour and it just doesn't sound good on the engine how serious is this and how costly is it

I have a 2005 stratus also,. My cruise control started acting funny. I'd start it, and it would work for a few miles then stop. I found that it was the switch that is right behind the brake petal. It went bad and was causing the problem. I replaced it, and now the cruise control works fine. it's a $15 replacement, but it's not the easiest thing to put in.
