2009 dodge Big Horn Ram 5.7 hemi oil pressure sensor

4 months ago I had an oil pressure sensor replaced on my
2009 dodge 4x4 5.7 liter hemi. It had 78k miles and now
here at the end of April the check engine light illuminates
with a low oil pressure code. I am going to take it back to
the mechanic but would love some input about the sensor
or possible other problems it may be??

The safe method is to check your oil pressure with a high quality GaugePSI tool , then inspect and diagnose the sender / sensor.
Has this vehicle been well maintained. If no it is possible that sludge or other debris is getting into the oil pressure sender causing it to give a false reading. An ordinary pressure gauge and proper fittings to get it connected to where the pressure sender goes is the best way to get a fairly accurate reading on the oil pressure. It is also possible that the replacement sender went bad.
Bad roller tip on a lifter caused by MDS system. Get it checked by dodge asap. they have the software and know the symptoms. I just went through this. had to buy a motor. what a nightmare!

bought my 2012 ram bighorn two years ago. always serviced by valvoline instant oil change. went to texas. after driving 2000 miles engine light oil pressure out of range. had oil changed at college station. fixed problem until now.yesterday light came on. i changed oil sending unit. still low. i changed the oil today myself. valvoline oil change is using a very small generic oil filter. got the right one. mobil one. oil filter is the culprit. much lower flow and capacity. maybe even collapsing.
