What gear oil should i use in the rear differential on my 2007 silverado 2wd 1500?
Asked by jamesryan Oct 29, 2013 at 10:41 AM about the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Crew Cab SB
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2007 silverado 1500 has over 126,000 miles on it and I need to change the rear diff oil. I drive 100 miles a day round trip to work and back, mostly on the interstate. I rarely haul any heavy loads and I'm looking for the best highway performance I can get. And my biggest concern is making sure this truck runs good for as long as possible. I just need to know what oil I should use, what weight would be the best, and how much will the rear end hold?

Chevrolet makes a special diff. Oil for the rear end. Or any synthetic differential oil will work fine. They all that Chevy Makes is also syntheti.
