bought car found on cargurus and needs costly repairs 3 mos later

Asked by Jennifer Sep 12, 2019 at 11:15 AM about the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover HSE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Good morning,
I bought a car in July 2019 that I found on your website. Initial
communication with dealership was via website as well. I was told that the
suv, a 2011 Range Rover HSE, was in excellent condition and it had went
through a multi-point inspection by the dealer. Fast forward not even three
months and I have to replace the air suspension, which is very costly, not to
mention an oil leak and worn out brakes, car horn does not work, and a
faulty driver side window. The air suspension started going back the first
month but I was not sure if I had pressed a wrong button, etc.; looking back
that was what was happening. The Land Rover tech told me when he
evaluated the car back home that the air suspension was going out in a
week to a month. This could have been spotted visually with an inspection,
which I asked of the dealer before purchasing. I was assured it was in mint
condition. What are my options? I purchased the vehicle from THUNDER
CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM in Bartow, FL.Thank you for your time.

Unless you have a warranty your options are to pay for the repairs or complain on the web. Buying an old RR is a crap shoot at best!

I have the exact same issue. Good luck! I haven’t decided what to do myself.
