Altima 3.5 SR

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just purchased a 2011 CPO Altima 3.5 SR a couple of days ago.  34k miles on it.
Need to know what I should use for gas.  Owners manual says to use at least 87 octane - which is regular.
I don't want to use regular if the previous owner used premium.  What to do?  I have no problem paying for premium - I just don't want to messa anything internally up.....thansk to anyone who can help.

If the manufacturer specifies 87 octane, that means the motor and fuel it has to burn are programmed to run/burn at optimal efficiency AND performance on that grade of fuel. The previous owner was wasting his money. lol. Don't worry, it has no negative effects on the engine (using premium over regualr) but it has no effect on the performance either, and don't EVER run lower than 91 in a motor that specifies 91 octane. Bad thing to do.
