I can hear my compressor come on on my 1997
Cadillac DeVille for the rear shocks but the car
never raises up do I have to put air in the shocks
myself if so where do I locate the compressor at
and how do I do it

You can't just "add air" if they are the original design. Most likely you have an air leak in the system that is preventing them from pressurizing. If they are after market, there may be an air port hidden in places like the trunk or the gas fill cap area.
