water temp is getting hot at a stop

why is it when I'm driving the car around I'm fine
when I stop the temp goes up when I start driving
it goes back to the middle of temp gauge I have a
2000 Cadillac Eldorado new waterpump new
thermostat  I took the water crossover off put all
new gaskets no leaks I'm stumped...

Sounds like an airflow problem. Make sure the radiator cooling fans are coming on. Also make sure the front of the radiator is not blocked by dirt, leaves, or other debris. Make sure any fan shrouds, and lower air deflectors aren't missing or broken too. Hope that helps! Jim
