I once owned 1998 Cadillac Catera for few years. I used to buy antifreeze more frequently to fill it up. This is the only car I ever dealt to fill this antifreeze. I use to fill up about half gallon at least once between every oil change service. (it got a leak...) Other cars I owned were Honda & Toyota, and never had to deal with antifreeze with those cars.

On an older model having to add antifreeze more than a few times per year is excessive. If your deVille is using antifreeze and/or overheating I'd suspect the head gaskets are failing. These cars with the Northstar engines are notorious for head gasket failure. To have it fixed correctly will cost about $3,500.00 +. HTH. -Jim
