Lost power

Asked by Dec 28, 2016 at 03:55 AM about the 2002 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 02 deville base began to lose power only going
15 mph, so i parked thinking it was the - 11° temp
outside. Next day i tried to start it n it didnt stay on.
When it did it only ran 5mph then shut off if i didnt
keep pumping the gas. Any ideas what this can be?

possibly a freezing gas line add stabil gas additive to the tank and hopefully it mixes in.. the bottle is actually HEET and yellow... try it first.

If you actually have water in the fuel and it froze, the chances are really high that the pump has been severely damaged and may not even work, my only suggestion at this time is get it someplace warm, let it thaw out and see what happens. The HEET is a good idea, but only before it freezes.
