What is service suspension system on dash at start up refer to?

Asked by prairiebelle Jan 25, 2021 at 11:03 AM about the 2003 Cadillac DeVille DHS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our cadillac sometimes has this on dash at start up and stays on when driving.
It can be cleared with the info buttons. Not addressed in owners manual. Is it a
factory suggested maintenance? What does it service??

It is telling you that a component of your suspension system is not functioning properly. It cannot be cleared with the "info" buttons and you will need to have a dealer or shop investigate and determine the cause. Then you can decide how to approach fixing it. I had a '93 DeVille that kept giving me that signal and I finally had the signal disabled because nothing was ever found to cause it. Ran fine for 13 years until I sold it. Air pump still functioned and all shocks lasted the 180K miles I put on the car.
