2011 Ford escape

Asked by Ivicak79 Jul 09, 2018 at 12:57 PM about the 2011 Ford Escape XLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Ford Escape.  When I move the vehicle from park there is a rather large jolt.  We hooked the vehicle up to computer and received the following errors:
Pressure Control
Solenoid A Control
Circuit Low
Circuit Open
PO 962

Any ideas?  We think that we need to replace the Solenoid, but can't locate it.

Inside the transmission, it will require the removal of the trans pan. You would be better off getting a repair manual, it will give you needed torque specs. You'll also want a torque wrench. Applying uneven torque to a pan bolt can distort the gasket and create a leak. You'll be working underneath the car, so a floor jack and jack stands are also needed, or a lift. Personally, I'd leave this to a shop. Let them flush and refill tranny as well as test/clean all solenoids, and replace the ones that need replacing.
