My 2004 cadillac devile starts up but makes a loud sqeeling noise then shuts off . like somethings not turning for the car to stay running

Something not turning maybe pulley, waterpump, r timing chain.

The timing chain would not be causing a squeal. It would be on the front of the engine, the serpentine belt. It would have to be removed so you can check all the pulleys. Usually it is a idler pulley that is bad, and possible belt tensioner. Also the AC compressor bearing could be frozen up and needing replacing.

Oh, forgot to mention that it could be the water pump also since it is driven by the serpentine belt. You are going to need a new serpentine belt also.
