Just bought91 525i, the tranny slips at 20 mph, but car has all gears? where would you check the level of the tranny fluid? please help? Thanks Jennifer
i bought a 1991bmw 525i, and it seems to have all the gears but slips and wont accelerate after 20 mph, the car is perfect inside and out, but also cannot find a way to check the tranny fluid.
I'm guessing from the question that your car has an automatic transmission. You will find two bolts coming out of the rear portion of the bellhousing. The upper on is to measure/fill the fluid, while the lower one is to drain the fluid. A car of that age would probably be better off draining all of the transmission fluid and filling it until it pours out of the filler hole. That's all it takes.
