My 05 DeVille DHS loses oil! Not all of the time! The oil loss can be 3 to 4 qts at a time while driving. Any ideas of what I should look for? Filter and drain plug are not leaking.
Most likely it's the oil pressure sending unit. They're prone to leakage and failure. However, don't buy an aftermarket one. Get an AC Delco replacement. For some reason, aftermarket ones don't work correctly in these engines. HTH. -Jim
Thank you Mark. I will check that out. Do you know it's location please?
I am running the car now and looking underneath. I see a constant dripping of oil now that the motor is warm. Coming from the right passenger side of the motor. Close to where the main crank seal would be and belt and pulley's.
Sound,s like your front main seal is bad,not to bad to fix, just have to remove the harmonic balancer to replace.
It looks like I will need to get my technician with a hoist. Have him take a good look at it and check that out. Thank you all for your answers.
