I have owned several 325 BMWs, but never bought one with over 200,000 miles. For under $4000, Would you buy a 330? (2003 or 2004). Or should i buy the 2006 with 99,000 miles for $8000?

Two different cars. The '03-'04 330i are the E46 chassis, more mechanical in nature, the '06 330i is an E90 chassis and that car is more electronic. Though they share the same engine. How long do you plan on keeping the car and spending on maintainence a year? If you drive 10K a year, buying a car at around 100K miles will get you another 10 years. The 200K car, you might have a year or 2. Study this.....http://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index.php?title=BMW_E46

Unless your looking at a 2006 330ci, (2 door) that is an E46.

Thanks for responding. It would be great to get a year or two out of whatever i purchase. I drive quite a bit. The 03 and 04 are sedans -330i. The 04 has 274,000 miles. ($3,000)The 03 has 215,000 miles. ($4000)The 06 is a 330ci. I just sold my 325ci because it had major mechanical issues with the convertible top and im looking for something to replace it.

I'd personally get the '06, many year of enjoyment, the others have limited life left. That 3-4K will soon be close to 10K once you start replacing parts that the previous owners didn't want to fix or repair and major parts like an engine or trans.

Any car with 200k on it is something you should stay away from... just no future in it unless you want to put $$ into it on a monthly basis...

Thank you
