My Cadillac keeps over heating and there is a leak it a 2004 dhs wat should I do
If you have the Northstar V8 it's most likely a blown head gasket. Have the cooling system pressure tested to confirm. You can also have a chemical added to the cooling system to detect exhaust gases. If it tests positive, the head gaskets are gone. To fix it you're looking at upwards of $3500! For starters, the engine and transmission must come out from the bottom of the car. You cannot pull the heads from the top with the engine in place! In my opinion if it's the head gasket, it's not worth fixing. HTH. - Jim
Head gasket job on 2004, not worth it...
Hopefully, many things cause an automobile to overheat without having an headgasket issue.
True, Toitoine. But on a Northstar it's not a matter of if the head gasket will blow. It's when will it blow. HTH. -Jim
May not work but is worth a try if it is a bad head gasket Bars Leak Radiator and Head Gasket sealer.
I agree with you Jim, let's hope for the OP that bad head gasket is not the issue. No matter what, if he continues to drive this car while overheating, the headgasket will become the issue. A pro needs to look at the car right away.
