i have a headlamp out but when i unlock car both headlamps come on,why?

one headlamp is out.

The light that comes on when you unlock the car is probly your daytime running lamp and not the actual headlight bulb. If you check your owners manual it should explain where each bulb is located in the headlight assembly.
