OEM foglights

Asked by Oct 17, 2010 at 09:25 PM about the 2010 Honda Accord Coupe LX-Sport

Question type: Car Customization

Has anyone installed the oem fogs on 08-010 LXS? I believe its
lacking the needed wires going up front that the EX has. Are there
any aftermarket units that will go in the same spots? I can't understand
whyHonda would make the perfect openning for the lights and don't sell them. :/

The company Tread Gear makes a set that works for the LX-S models. I have installed them in a buddies car. They come with a button that looks close to OEM and mounts next to the VSA button. the harness is a generic style, and most of the ends will have to be lengthened to work. I think he found it on Ebay. There is a write up on the install at www.my8thgen.com. It is a forum dedicated to the 2008+ Honda Accord. Tons of info this is only for the 8h gen.

i have. there are a few wires ur missing, and the new combination switch, but it all come in the kit from honda

Thats not true, the kits from Honda will not work on the LX-S not without modifying. The Cabin harnesses on both sides are lacking the needed links that the EX/EXL has. This is just a cost saving measure (per a Honda Rep), but I told them this car has poor low beam lighting which I feel is a safety concern in poor weather.

Thanks for the info, I will look into the kit.

It is possible, but just not nearly as easy as stock plug and play. I have adapted an accessory ex Fog set to work on a non ex sedan before. PITA!

I am a honda tech, I have done more factory fog lamps than I can count. The connectors are often somewhat hidden but are usually a brown or gray connector taped to the harness with blue electrical tape. I can see if i can send you the instructions, or another option is to go to the deraler parts counter, they can print you the same instructions we use in the shop. Any Q's I am at luda8890@yahoo.com
