The trunk lid keeps falling closed when the car is on the slightest incline. Can the tension rods which hold it up be adjusted?

Don't attempt to adjust those rods!!! this may be a possible recall. have the dealer check it.

Thanks. There really is something wrong when a new car has this kind of problem. I'll check with my dealer to see if a fix is in the works. In the mean time I solved the problem by attaching two small springs to the tension rod that controls the 'lift' part of the mechanism. It's a real 'Rube Goldberg' kinda fix but it works.

Try this. It was very easy to do and it worked for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G92UjqlFREs
