How can I get my key fob to start working again?

Asked by sdon59167 Jan 07, 2016 at 05:05 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT 5.3 engine. My key
fob wouldn't unlock my truck, so I used my key to
open the door and my alarm sounded until I turned
my key over in the ignition. Display also shows that
my TPMS sensors sent working. Everything was
perfectly normal till my key fob stopped working.
What is wrong?

Battery in fob is working. I even tried my spare set of keys. It's not the keys, and I know what tpms is. I'm thinking it must be some sensor or something electrical.

TPMS is your Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Each wheel (including your spare) has one just inside the tire next to the valve stem. Discount Tire has them for about $68 a piece installed. I just replaced all for of mine last year. I drive a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Pull the "DSM" 10 amp fuse on side dash panel. wait about 20 seconds and replace it. . It did reset for me. Key fobs and TPSM both working.
