How to get the key out of the place the FOB was suppose to go in to start my 2009 Nissan Altima

I have a 2009 Nissan Altima and my key battery died, so I pulled the key out and opened
the door. I wanted to turn on my car and instead of putting the FOB in the place on the
dash to sart the car, I put the actual key in if, and now I can't get the key out!! The car
started with my other key, but I'd like to get the other key out!! Can You HELP?!?!

Take a small pair of needle nose pliers and pull on it while moving it back and forth.
