my chevy impala does everything except move from drive shift

If you can not push it and it is in neutral,try pressing your emergency brake,and release it,may help.If this doe,s not help something is defenatly wrong,i would think in trainsmission.

Was it acting up in any way before this? And maybe try jacking it up one wheel at a time and try to spin wheel and see if all 4 are locked up, or both front, both rear or which one. If we knew that we might be able to figure this out

G'morning TST another day at the office

it seems to be fighting the brakes though. cause the gears shift fine the engine revs and i try to put it in neutral and the car would move a few inches but thats all, it wont move if i push the car on neutral

Good morning FN,mrtnmnz,this car is not that old,do as fordnut said,jack up each tire and check them if you think this is the problem,but i would think it may not be the brake,s,it would be a bad wheel bearing or your tranny,but that said check the wheel,s ,jack it up that will answer a lot,and all so make sure it is in neutral when you try the front tires.

roger, i will try that and see if that woud be the problem, thanks i will let you guys know if that solves the problem.

take out the TRANS or TCC fuse this will put it into limp mode if your car moves your tranny is bad
