Was 2009 the last production year for the Pontiac G6 Convertible? How many were made?

Asked by Apr 02, 2014 at 09:28 AM about the 2009 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

Question type: General

Mine is the mettalic Midnight Blue, and I've never seen one on the road, nor did I see more than 2 when I went shopping online, back in the model year.

Total number of G6s made in 2009: 87,171 Extra information: The "Final 100" G6 sedans were built November 25, 2009 as part of a fleet order; these were some of the last United-States-built Pontiac automobiles. with the exception of the one, lone G6 that was manufactured in January of 2010: The last Pontiac ever manufactured, a 2010 G6, was built in early 2010 when GM restarted the Orion Assembly Line to manufacture one final 2010 Pontiac G6. Also note that Pontiac released two different models of the G6 in 2009. Essentially a 2009 G6 and a 2009.5 G6.

Thanks Karl, but that didn't answer my question at all. I am now seeing used 2010 G6's advertised for sale. I don't care anything about sedans, just coupes and convertibles. Someone else at this site said there were G6's made in 2010, not just ONE like you have said. Where can I find more info on the amount of G6 convertibles made in 2009? Also, I have been told recently that MY 2009 G6 GT convertible is a stand alone car, not like any other, like Malibu or Impala.

It is probable that the "2010" G6s you are finding for sale are in fact the redesigned 2009 models (AKA the aforementioned 2009.5 G6). At any rate, I hope these links might help you in your search for information: -http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Pontiac-G6-Overview-d467 -http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z15760/Pontiac-G6.aspx -http://www.g6ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7985 NOTE: You can also take your VIN number and use online VIN decoders such as http://www.compnine.com/vid.php to ascertain how many cars similar to yours were made.

The 2010 Pontiac G6,G8 and Solstices are the 2009 vehicles. Pontiac simply chose to assemble them after the last manufacturing date for 2009 vehicles. Theses "fleet vehicles" were used by Pontiac personal during the 2010 closing phase of Pontiac. So if you look at the 2009 Solstice, there were actually 1144....20 have vins that reflect the 2010 dates....not a bit of difference in those 20 cars. I put more value in my 2009 Solstice GXP 5 speed Coupe with a Vin of 78 than a do a 2010 with a vin of 1, since that car is really 1125.
