2009 cobalt engine shut down

engine not running properly (shakes and looses power) and will stall when idling

Have you had the recalls done on this car? If not that might be part of your problem.

*rolls eyes...* Or... it could be a plugged fuel filter or a fuel pump about to fail. Could also have a number of electronic causes. Before throwing parts at the problem and hoping it will go away I would suggest having a properly equipped mechanic scan the engine and see what it is saying.
