Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi all
I hate being "that guy" that signs up to ask a question.....but I would appreciate help with my vehicle

I have a Ford IKON .....and it won't start...it turns over ..but that's it ...I used Quick start spray to help it start ...but nothing ...it just turns over ....and over ...I checked the battery and one cell was not working in battery ...so I used another spare battery to try again and the first battery got flat ....when I switched on the ignition the dials shot to the right ....paused there for second or so ...then dropped back down to left ...or starting point ...not sure if that helps ....it sometimes almost wants to start ...but then does nothing ......
I need to try fix this but not sure where to start ....

How did you test for a bad cell in the first batt. ? Is there a chance you put the cables on backards ?

Charged it right ....I took off the up cover to expose cells with acid .....all but last one bubbling when charging ....last cell browny colour ...no bubbles ...looks like lead panels disintegrated....so I took it to be not working .....when I use charger to charge it heats up ...not just a bit ....a lot ...on the side where no bubbles

If the engine cranks, but wont start, check the starter selonoid cable. This cable runs in the same channel as the crank angle sensor wiring. When you crank the engine, a high voltage and amerage current induces a high voltage in the Crank angle sensor wiring. Move these wires away from each other. Remove the starter selonoid wires out of the channel and away from the sensor wiring.

Check also the amperage draw in the main starter cable. Clean the terminals or replace the battery to starter cable. Check the battery earth cable to the body and fit another earth cable from the Battery negative to the transmission.
