i have a 2009 corolla and it seems the rpms re getting higher and higher in order to switch to 3rd/4th gear. It does not shift until 2400-3100 rpms. Is this normal? what levels of rpms is normal?

know much about cars
The rpm at which the transmission shifts gears depends on throttle position and how quickly you're accelerating. If it's shifting smoothly, it's fine, but if you feel a drop in power right before it shifts, or if it's jerking, then the transmission is slipping and you should get it checked out.
