Honda Fit, overheats, no interior heat

Asked by JohnandGail Jan 25, 2020 at 05:37 PM about the 2008 Honda Fit Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello,
We have a 2009 Honda Fit. It's engine overheats,
and there is no interior heat. We live in a remote,
northern Canada community, with no Honda
experts/dealership. My husband is a mechanic.
This one has him stumped. He installed a new
water pump, installed a new thermostat TWICE,
and even went so far as to install a new radiator,
even tho the old one looked ok. Still, no luck. Is
there a Honda expert he can contact? We would
pay to speak with soneone.
Thanks.

How about purging air out of the cooling system? The next thing is to check for head gasket leaks.

I’m have a issue with my Honda Fit with over heating one forum said it could be a main relay . It Reyna great but after driving it I have to park it to cool down then I can drive it what to do

Marla, there are some auto corrects in your message. Are you saying you CAN drive it after it overheats and then you let it cool? I have learned to drive my car for 5km only ‍♀️ I live in a small town. I can make it to the grocery store. Then the engine cools while I am shopping. Then I can make it back home.

Sorry lol so what happens is I drive it and after driving I turn it off . Say I’m going into a store or something. What happens I come back to start the Honda and it won’t start until I sits and seems to cool down..
