My 2008 Chevy Malibu is having issues turning on, as well as the ESC warning on the dash pops up? What would this be?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It takes it a little bit to start. When idling it idles really harshly, as well as on the
dash where it shows the mileage it pops up a ESC warning. I have tried putting
the scanner my father has on it but the check engine light keeps turning off
when I do it does not pull any codes. Is there any recommendations or ideas to
what this could be?

when the ECS light comes on the engine will go into a low power mode thinking the traction control is active but really getting false information. ( module to module Miscommunication ). best short version i could think of.

Mine is doing the same thing. Report your issue to https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/ so the government can investigate Chevy. Too many people are having the same issue.
