I need a new ac compressor for my 2008 nissan rogue, but is it safe to run the car if I choose not to fix it?

Of course it's safe lots of cars before 2000 have a built in fail safe that shuts it self off when low on Freon,it fine to drive around in it until you decide to have it repaired ,be advised if you let it go for a couple yrs you could possibly need lots of other things new as well,due to noncirculation,so just a heads up

Thanks Joseph. The mechanic told be I had to get it fixed or I was at risk of overheating, the water pump to stop working and the serpentine belt from working and the car would cease up.

Your welcome ,as long as the pulleys stay lubricated it should be fine,dnt forget a dishonest mechanic will tell you things that's you dnt know nothing about make it sound like you need it ,get you to throw money away,not really that way but make a small fortune that feeds there family,thinking everyone is rich and can pay for outrageous repairs,it's always better to get to the source of the problem rather than fix what broke and have the same underlying problem.best regards Joseph!!!!
