You can try disconnecting the battery for 16 hours.
Buy a cheap OBDII code reader that can delete codes, most can. Or borrow one. Much better than risking blowing your HVAC actuators if the battery is disconnected.
How do you "blow" a actuator when there is no power going to it????
When the battery is re-connected, actuators commonly blow on the GMT360 platform. Very bad design.
I did the mistake of disconnecting the battery on my Trailblazer to do a repair because I didn't know of the problems it causes. When the battery was connected back up and the vehicle was started, it slams the actuator door back and forth a few times to relearn the positions of the door and they use cheap plastic gears on the actuators and it damaged the gears. Now every time the vehicle is started, you will hear a loud popping coming from the dash for a short time. It is best to not disconnect the battery on these things or you will be spending money to replace the actuators.
