AC works good on highway speeds . But at a stop or idel. It blows warm air. What are thinking i need to look for?

Took it to a mechanic He put on ac gauges
and said theres a restriction in the system it
gave a high psi reading.over 250pis

Sounds like there's air in the system or the condenser (in front of the radiator) is dirty and blocking the airflow. Does the coolant temp gauge climb at idle as well? If so, the condenser is blocked. HTH. -Jim

no temperature stays the same This happened after idle Ac pully tensioner bearings Went out I replaced the pulley

Sound,s like the AC system is low on freon,and high on air,

Well i took it to a shop had a mechanic Put gauges red gauges gave a reading over 250psi. He said theres a restriction in the system.. That i would have to take it to the dealer ship

This can be caused by over filling with freon all so,

At low idle it will cut off compressor,

It explainotory,run,s good on high way,but off at idle,go have the sytem vacummed,and filled proper.

Ive had the truck for over a year ac has been working fine. Till now.. Would it be best to change out orifice tube as well?

Is the diameter of the new pulley the same as the old one? If it's larger the compressor will spin slower than it's supposed to. If this is happening the compressor won't "pump" as well as it should. At idle it will be more noticeable. What's the low side pressure reading? HTH. -Jim

Yes new pully is the same size. Not sure what the low reading was. But tomorrow morning will get a second opinion at midas they have free ac inspections

Ok i figured out the problem electrical connections On the fan clutch wasn't seated properly .made the corrections.all works great now .thanks for yalls in puts.
