Are the traction control system and cruise control related?
My Buick Lucerne CXS has service traction control, service stabilizer system and service
brake assist system messages displayed and my cruise control does not work. Could
these problems have a common source? Car only has 27000 miles but has been sitting
for about 6 months.
Yes,you can say they are won of the same, traction control sensor,s monitor your speed on each tire, for constant, traction to each one,it is all so tied in to your braking system to slow a tire up if it is not a the same speed, and third, your cruze is tied in to this, for braking purpose,s,you may need to visit a dealer to help with your problem.
And who know,s may just check the brake fluid?
I posted this question earlier and as a followup I wanted to say what the solution was. Mechanic did a complete scan on the car and he found a defective "cruise control brake or clutch" switch. Replaced and adjusted the switch and all is well!!! $85 labor and $57.50 switch. Very pleased.
