2008 escape brake draging

Either caliper is sticking or a brake line is collapsed. Remove the wheel, pump the brakes, then let off the brake. Crack open the bleeder valve, if brake fluid trickles out, you likely have a bad caliper. If brake fluid shoots out, then you likely have a bad brake line. The brake hoses degrade over time, and can restrict the flow of brake fluid back to the master cylinder causing pads to rub. If the caliper is bad, it might mean the glide pins are corroded or the caliper piston is bad. You can buy a set of re-man calipers for about $135 for the front, they come with everything including new pads. If you do replace them you should also replace brake hoses as well, those are about $17 apiece, this way you only have to bleed the brakes once. ABS will not cause a dragging brake. It's best to stick with OEM parts when it comes to brakes.

Took line off caliper and replaced it with ford and put it on and cant get brakes to build. They go straight to the floor??

When I need to brake hard, the Escape feels like it twists in a clockwise direction. When I stop at a red light, I can take my foot off the brake and the car doesn't move. I can hear a minor sound as if the engine is almost powerful enough to over come the brake (not pressing the pedal).

Front right brake hangs, wheel won't spin when its up on a jack, and the wheel gets hot after a short drive, on brand new used 2008 ford escape. Caliper slide pins rusted so bad they won't slide. Replaced caliper, bled the brake fluid line. Poor/none maintenance, former owner never greased the pins when replacing the pads. Going to clean the old caliper up and keep it. 1 to 2 hr fix, with new part in hand. Now going to check the other wheel calipers.
