ABS and Brake Light are always on, mechanic has said it is a faulty computer, is there a way i can verify this myself?
Scan it and check for WSS (wheel speed senor) I say NO to the PCM vehicle computer. Ask him about the J2534 SAE standard see if he has a clue about vehicle systems.
I agree, scan the ABS computer first and get the trouble codes. If this is a situation where the lights come on intermittently you'll have to scan it while the lights are on with the engine running. Don't shut it off once the lights come on because that will clear the ABS computer and you'll get nothing from the scan. The red brake light being on could be you're low on brake fluid, or even just a faulty emergency brake switch. Usually when both lights come on together something else is a foot. But best to check all avenues. HTH. -Jim
Also try cleaning ABS sensors sometimes they get dirty and cause light to come on.
