07 dodge ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can't figure out what is wrong with my rear brakes
or differential. After I release my brake pedal,my
rear brakes are not letting go right away. They will
grind for about 20 feet. It is real bad when I am
reversing or making a turn immediately after taking
my foot off brake and hit the gas. I have inspected
brake lines for kinks or damage, replace
rotors, brakes and calipers. Still having problem.
Can anyone help me out, I had a mechanic return
my truck and said he can't find the problem. I have
112,000 miles on truck.

What exactly do you mean grind when you put all new on the rear? If you had the rotors off on the rear, then you would have seen what condition the E-brake shoes and assembly are in. Is the problem there? Thats the only place it could be grinding and hanging up since you have everything else new. Otherwise possible brake hoses that run to the caliper. They can internally break down and collapse causing a restriction for the brake fluid.
