Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't start and it has a new battery. Thought it was a security probelm, but
cannot figure it out. Maybe the starter or relay. Where is the relay located?

My info says your security system is starter motor disable, among other things. It should be possible with testing to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if security system is the problem, even if you crank it, it still won't start. If problem with security system, you may need a scanner that can communicate with security system in order to fix. You could check for applicable trouble codes, if there are any? The starter relay is in underhood fuse box. You can unplug relay, use jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87, terminal 30 is fuse protected and hot all the time, the starter motor should crank the engine. If you try that, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. At least it will show the starter motor will crank the engine.
