Gearboxfault light then nothing

Just bought a2002 jaguar x-type. It had mild
hesitation problems on the shift. But after
being driven a good it today I noticed the
hesitation and rpm up the dash said gearbox
fault. When I was pulling out of parking spot
I had no reverse and bathe time I got home it
wont go in drive now. What do I need to look
at and is it worth fixing?

I hate to say this, but did you do any homework before you bought a 14 year old X-Type Jag? They are notoriously bad, pitiful, lousy. I hope the seller paid you a fair price to haul it off. So sorry for you.
