If it were me I would look at a 502/502 Factory crate motor. They also have a 572!

You will likely save a bundle by going with a crate motor and you get a warranty too! http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/crate- engines/big-block-zz-502-base.html

The fuel injected 502 has more than 500 ft. lbs of torque from 2,750 rpm to redline!

I would bet that you will spend twice the cost of a factory crate motor on a custom job and you will have no guarantee on the motor. You will also have a hard time finding a first rate machine shop to do all the work but building an engine your self can be fun so Good Luck!

Have fun but price it all out first! Good luck getting the injection right on a custom engine. The Chevy crate engine is plug and play.

No one is going to spend hours of research finding the parts for you. If you don't know where to start then I would suggest that maybe you are not ready to build a $20,000 motor. Shopping for the parts is half the fun anyway.

Define "best"? Titanium valves and connecting rods and an aluminum block and heads? Price is no object so you want to spend a $100,000 or more? 1,000hp? While you are at it plan on spending a bundle on your drive train as the first time you punch your monster motor there are going to be parts littered all over the highway.
