help my husband changed the fuel pump and fuel filter and it still wont start
we have replaced the fuel pump and the filter and even put a new gas line
on we have checked the fuel injectors and fuses and it started one time
after we got the new fuel pump on and it quit after that and now it will not
start . we have no idea what it could be at this moment and we really need
advice. my husband is a mechanic and his head is spinning and that
doesnt happen very often honestly . we really need help what could it be it
is doing the same thing it did before he changed the fuel filter and the fuel
pump please help
Check and make sure it's getting spark and then if it is you might want to make sure it's getting gas inside you said you out a new like but it could be its not getting gas inside the cylinders
Its not getting enough gas to the carburetor
It is acting like its NOT
That truck should be TBI not a carburetor, ive came across this problem several times on these trucks and its been the distributor every time, pull the cap n rotor and look at the stator at the pick up coil it should appear it damn near touches it .....if u see a gap bingo!!! Good luck hope this helps
i agree with chuck i think its the distributor... if its not then i would also check to make sure that when he did the pump change he cleaned the tank as the pick up could be clogged if the old pump fell apart or the tank was rusty... doubtful but possible.
