Turn signal flashes as if truck has blown bulb

Asked by XJR_8157 Feb 19, 2017 at 04:05 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok, I have 94 Chevy K1500 z71. When I DO NOT
have my lights turned on, everything works flawless
until I hit my brake pedal. Then when i flick on the
turn signal (either one) the dash indicator will flash
abnormally. At night when I drive with my lights ON,
they flash abnormally, brake pedal depressed or
not. I used to spray the fuses under the dash with
contact spray and it works fix it, now it wont. Bulbs
and relay work good, just not when any other light
is on.

There still may be a bad bulb in the batch, the flasher for Hazard Warning/Turn Signal may be bad, look it up online for your truck year and model to see the replacement and look under dash for it and replace it, It has plug connector.

All the bulbs work unless i either hit my brakes with no lights on or all the time with my lights on. Those are the only times the lights work. The hazard warning/turn signal flasher is clicking along with the dash indicator. I used to be able to spray the brake light fuse and the turn signal fuse and they'll work perfect for awhile. The fuses seem okay, I didn't use a tester but the metal inside is attached. Also I forgot to mention, when I hit my brakes, the only lights in the back that I have is my cab light up top.

Did you ever figure out the problem. My 96 is doing the same thing right now and I’ve replaced the boards on both lights , checked my ground and replaced the bulbs. Also replaced the relay for the brake lights and all fuses are good
