I have no fuel, but spark

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 94 Chevy Silverado. Shut off like the key was
turned off. Discovered that I have spark but no fuel. So I
replaced the fuel pump, then I discovered that it still doesn't
work unless I have it hooked up to an alternative source.
(Battery charger) I replaced the ICM, pump relay, fuses and
even the computer. Does the distributor run the fuel pump?
Idk what else it can be...

The distributor has nothing to do with the fuel pump. The computer would be very last resort before fuel pump. You get spark so it wouldn't be the crank sensor. But maybe you are over looking the camshaft sensor?

How is the camshaft sensor tied into the fuel pump? I mean it's not doing ANYTHING. No squirt of fuel, the pump is silent, nothing.

And from what I find, my truck has neither. It's ran by the pick-up coil in the distributor

The relay, and fuse have all been replaced. Where is the regulator located? Basically yes, the pump works ONLY if it's hooked to the battery charger, but the fuel doesnt get to the throttle body. and the injectors have 12.3 volts.

Spark control or ignition controlboth of wich are in the distributor of the truck has no crank sensor by the balancer on the front of the engine then these two are likly your problem on very late 80 to early and some mid 90 chevy if the electric point system doesn't read it gives no spark to the plugs no spark sent to plugs no signal sent to injectors to fire fuel i just fix 3 1989 chevy 1500 1993 2500 and a 91 z71 all of wich got a new distributor assembly and so for none have had any issues

how JM3DY has no reputation points is a SHOCK. your comment is one of THE MOST intelligent things I've ever read in automobile mechanics. The fact that it's a chevy and I'm not a chevrolet guy doesn't help.
