my 96 chev k1500 stalls whenever the throttle is increased. OBD 2 reader shows no faults and truck idles fine. Any idea what could be causing this ?

yes...first change the fuel filter...did you do that yet...you did not say ?!!!?? then?or look/listen for a vacuum leak......ok.....
