2001 buick century, approx 60,000 miles, won't move when
accelerate. As if in neutral

Have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition? When was the last time the transmission was serviced? The fluid should be pink, not brownish or have a burnt smell. Is the check engine light on? A bad Pressure Control Solenoid can cause transmission not to work or erratic shifting.
