Buy & install a cold air intake with a K & N air filter, Tube headers are a must if non-turbo. And a 3" exhaust system. Off-the-shelf systems are so expensive like Flowmaster $600-$800, So go to a local muffer shop with a hydraulic tube bender & have a custom single one made, much cheaper too. Make sure to use a perf. cat & muffler too with 3" inlets & outlets. I like Raven Products, They sound deep & perform well. They weld up the joints & install new hangers which make it trouble free. Use a MSD ignition bax & cap, E3 spark plugs with solid center spark plug wires, Use only Sunoco 91-93 octane gas & Mobile 1 or Castrol synthetic oil. Phase II. Buy another cylinder head & have it ported & polished by a cylinder head shop for later. Ask them about "skimming" a few thousandths off of it too. Buy & install a performance cam & kit with valve springs, Consult a speed shop or Jeg's or Summit catalogs for parts & spec's.. Good luck with your killer EVO project.
