Not sure what part you are referring to. You do have a Master Cylinder which provides the brake fluid pressure for your brakes. Just Google "master cylinder" to see what one looks like. It is mounted to the fire wall under the hood, just about in front of the driver. A bad master cylinder can result in spongy brakes, brake pedal going to the floor, you can google symptoms for a bad MC.
