Question type: General

check engine light came on with a P0410 code but went off. think pump is going out,
doesn't quite feel right when driving. Seems a little rough. If pump goes out will the car still
run or will it leave me stranded? Price of part a little more than I can afford right now and
no after market part available.

If the pump freezes up it will burn up the belt. If the belt is running other accessories, you will lose those also.

Thanks for the info. Pump is electric so no belt. Friend bringing volt meter to test volts. How do you know if relay is bad?

Easiest way to find out is tosswitch it with a known working relay. If the air pump comes on then you know it's a bad relay.

The secondary air injection system is purely emissions related. It will not affect the performance of the vehicle. It also only operates at a cold start up for 1 minute to heat up the catalytic converters so they will work more efficiently.
