Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 KIA Sedona van died while driving to work. got toed home
and started thinking fuel pump. that checked out OK. next to
injectors, they checked out OK. Leaving me with ignition. i
could not get e pulse on the coil wires. that is where i got
stuck. What way do i look now?

i removed a spark plug, and assembled it in the coil. I made the appropriate grounds to the coil and plug. the plug was located over the plug hole, and with the ignition on I cranked the engine. I saw spark at the plug, and on the second rotation I had fire coming from the hole. Now I see I have ignition, Gas in the cylinder, but no running engine. I removed the front valve cover to look at the timing chain. it looked good and tension was good. i rucked the engine back and forth by turning the front pulley, and the tension stayed good. Now what?
